Main Factors Affecting the Service Life of Automotive Molds
The actual service life of automotive molds is affected by many factors. Firstly, material grade and heat treatment process matter greatly. Impure materials or unqualified heat treatment may lead to rapid wear, cracking and deformation. Secondly, improper operation parameters such as stamping force, die-casting temperature and feeding speed will increase mold load and accelerate component loss. The hardness and surface impurities of raw materials will also cause continuous wear to mold cavities. In addition, daily maintenance plays an important role. Regular cleaning of cavity dirt, lubrication filling, accessory inspection and minor damage repair can slow down mold aging. Reasonable control of relevant conditions can effectively extend mold service life and reduce later replacement and maintenance costs for automobile manufacturers.
